In a recent interview for its “China through a 'green' lens” series, director of the Center for Ecological Civilization Josef Mahoney sat down with Global Times for a conversation about the character of China’s green development and green development philosophy. In it, he discusses the “groundbreaking restructuring of the legal system” caused by China’s new Ecological and Environmental Code, the importance of Chinese Marxism and Chinese wisdom for Ecological Civilization Thought, the improvements to the city of Shenyang where he once lived, China’s successes in the EV and green energy sectors, and the abandonment of environmental leadership by the United States.
